A koan is meant to shake things up in your head, get you to see the world differently. I’m trying to do the same thing for myself when creating these images and for others in the viewing of them. I think the beauty comes in the “mistakes,” the little tweak in the chemistry that makes things skew one way or the other. Some of my favorite sections of color that I've ever done are found in the little corners of this painting. (2023) Acrylic on board - 44" x 40" [112 cm x 102 cm]
 
FYI - this painting has a large, heavy, and rustic wood backing frame - it makes the painting sit 2" off the wall.
